During my 3 day trip to the Okanagan lake I found a few of these Formica neorufibarbis queens running around between August 10 and August 13. I caught these two queen during Aug 12th and Aug 13th. I assumed they were parasitic at first but It's turns out they aren't either way I boosted them with pupae from a Formica argentae colony.
p.s Thanks to Cystals for the ID ^^
Like usual I got two queens and like always one is doing better.
Queen A has 5 cocoons and 2 nanitics.
Queen B has 4 cocoons and 1 nanitic.
They both started with 7 cocoons and their first nanitic eclosed within the first 2-3 days when I got back.
