I have two small colonies with about 15 nanitics. What feeders do you reccomend for their size for the next year and a half to year.

The smallest size should be fine, but what species are the colonies? Worst case scenario, you'll just need to refill it more often.

"The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer." Prov. 30:25
Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.

If I had to get one size starting out it'd be the 2ml  or 3 ml mini. Most important is it fits in your outworld, so double check the height. You can always fill less for the larger sizes, so it really depends how fast you expect your colony to grow and use.

There's some pretty good deals on Amazon right now for byformica if you have Amazon prime.

I bought the 1ml feeders for water and sugar water for my Solenopsis invicta colony and they have worked great! I don't really think that the size matters too much unless you have a giant colony or a super tiny outworld.

“You’ll survive” -wise man.
Currently keeping:
Brachymyrmex patagonicus

Solenopsis invicta

Crematogaster sp.

I would get the small one but if you are too lazy to replace it a lot just give them a medium size.

I think it's the 3mL that fits in mini-hearths, but 5mL may not.

For my largest colonies I use the mega.

I almost ordered a bunch more yesterday but I figure I should just dig up all the ones I have and wash them well. Occasionally the base breaks if you try to force them open (when they are glued shut by hardened sugar) so soak them in hot water if they don't open easily.
