Well if you bought a colony with workers then you know the queen is fertile, and you won't have to deal with the founding stage, so if you have the money I would say go ahead and spend a but extra so you know that you aren't spending all that money to end up with an unfertile queen.

Is buckeyemyrmecology a trustworthy site? Do they have DOA refund?

I'd recommend you to check the reviews in the market subforum, there should be a few helpful threads there.

Mexicanus workers are between 6-10mm and mendax workers are between 4-6 mm, but they have majors from 6-7 mm

I've bought from them twice, both colonies arrived healthy. The owner used to be a friend of mine on this forum before he went inactive. He is reputable and well established in the community.

What about replete sizes?

Pretty sure repletes are just at the larger end of those sizes.

Indeed, repletes will be the exact same as the regular workers. The only difference in size will depend on how much food they are storing at any particular moment. They grow and shrink like balloons, so there really is no set 'replete size', just however large they feel they need them to be.

No, my depilis repletes are already larger than the normal worker even without being filled. But I know what you mean, as I've never seen a set replete size in any care sheet.

Ok. I just purchased a Camponotus Ca-02 colony with 5-10 workers, and a Pheidole Bicarinata colony with 1-5 workers!

Who did you buy them from? I would've been more cautious with both of those colonies if I were you; Pheidole with 1-5 workers at this point likely aren't doing very well, unless the shop's page just wasn't updated and the colony in fact has much more workers. If you found Camponotus us-ca02 on a website, chances are that you can find vendors on Formiculture or Discord selling for much cheaper.

I bought from Antopia USA. The pheidole colony likely has much more than 5 workers, because when I got myrmecocystus depilis with 1-5 workers they arrived with 16 workers and a replete.

The camponotus was $41.
