I just finished making an outworld and wanted to know what you guys think! Tomorrow I will attach it to my chromatogaster ant colony that is currently in a test tube portal.

I used in this build

  •  Hobby Lobby display container
  • Hobby Lobby perfect cast
  • Hobby Lobby small plant
  • Rubbing Alcohol and Talc powder for fluon                                                                                                                                                                                                                         I wanted to ask if you guys think the fluon looks good? It's my first time making it and I want to make sure that my ants do not escape. I was also wondering how long this ant barrier would last before I need to put a new one?

Sorry I still don't know how to post pictures but here are the links!

One thing I would change is making the vinyl tubing shorter.

Oh one important thing, epoxy the vinal tubing to the outworld. ANTdrew will testify to crematogaster slipping out of small gaps...

Looks good, but you will need to keep them off the lid because they will be able to slip out of that mesh. I think your thick band of talc will do the trick, but you’ll need to monitor it. Ants_Dakota’s suggestion is a good one, but if the tube fits very snugly in the hole it should be fine. I use Loctite 100% silicone from Home Depot to seal gaps like that. Good luck!
