I found a queen that resembles a polyergus queen, her gaster has a pretty cool silver pattern on it. I couldn’t really picture it all to well since she kept moving, and the test tube she’s in is really dirty.

I’m questioning the pogonomyrmex, because I’m not to sure if its californicus, occidentalis, or subniditis. Most of the pogonomyrmex were different sizes, I did notice some that were much larger than the rest.

The Polyergus is P. vinosusPogonomyrmex occidentalis doesn't occur anywhere near SoCal and matter of fact is only known from an approximate 50 mile range in NorCal, bordering Nevada. The images of the Pogonomyrmex are inadequate to ID them.

Pogonomyrmex occidentalis are not present in the area, as ReignofRage said.

Please read the entire thread before posting. I can't believe I have had to say this twice in the past 24 hours.
