Received a single queen ant on August 20th I decided to go with the Crematogastor Cerasi as my first time ant species as I am completely new to this hobby. She’s housed in the typical tube with water & cotton, I noticed today that she has laid a couple of eggs hard to get a solid head count of them being so small. Very excited for this journey that I have been waiting on I’ll keep this journal going when time has passed and nature develops

Crematogaster cerasi is an awesome starter species! A formiculture guide for this species can be found here and for more information, you can always check out the antwiki article here. Finally, ANTdrew has a longstanding journal here if you want to follow a fellow antkeeper who has deep experience with the species!

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8

I hope this colony does well! I also have three Crematogaster queens(I’m unsure on what species) and they have laid a couple of eggs. (See my journal via the link in my signature).

“You’ll survive” -wise man.
Currently keeping:
Brachymyrmex patagonicus

Solenopsis invicta

Crematogaster sp.
