Will this barrier work for Solenopsis invicta?

I want to use extra virgin olive oil as an escape barrier for Solenopsis invicta but I’m not sure if it will work on them.

do you have fluon? I don't know much about olive oil but I do know that Solenopsis work through most barriers real fast

And many Carnivorous plants such as: Dionea muscipula (fly trap), Sarracenia x 'Fiona' ( American Pitcher plant), Nepenthese ventrata (Tropical Pitcher plant), and Pinguicula agnata x emarginata (Butterwort) (show off your plants here)

do you have fluon? I don't know much about olive oil but I do know that Solenopsis work through most barriers real fast

I don’t want to buy fluon so I’m looking for a good substitute.

So I was looking around and found out that olive oil works, but you would have to re-apply it every 2-3 weeks

Was this specifically for solenopsis invicta? Because I read the same thing but it said that it doesn’t work for all species of ants.

The only good substitute for fluon is talc mixed with alcohol. Don’t mess around with anything else if you’re dealing with RIFAs.

I second this RIFAs are extreme escape aritists. I would only trust talc.

Talcahol barriers can be far superior to fluon in some cases. I am a recent convert to talc.
