I have a previous post about how to make an outworld for my crematogaster ants but I was wondering if you guys think they are ready for an outworld. They are currently in a test tube portal and have 100-110 workers. If I connect a 2 feet clear tube to a small outworld do you think they are the size ready for it?

Are your ants also in a AntsCanada test tubes, or a formicarium? I think you are definitely correct in concluding that a portal is too small. I also think 2 feet of tubing is a little too much, though.

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8

I believe 100 ants is more than enough to move into a formicarium. It is my opinion and recommendation, as well as many others on this forum, to move away from AntsCanada antkeeping products and toward something more natural for your ants. I highly recommend Por Amor Art, as their products are affordable, beautiful, and cover all bases for any setup of your desire. By combining an aesthetically pleasing formicarium with a homemade outworld, you can affordably and safely keep your ants for years to come.

I give my Crematogaster a full outworld once they hit four or five workers. I have no idea how you’ve made a Test Tube Portal work for so many of these ants. You should give them an outworld yesterday.
