does a red shield affect termites like ants?

I've been reading stuff on the termite section and have been getting into termites and before i go and try to catch any termites i want to know if a red shield will make the termites think they are in the dark, that way i will be able to observe them more.

Cockroaches with better eyesight can see it, but i don't think anything with simple retinas can detect it.

I've noted red runners notice the light a bit, others have reported roaches obviously reacting to it but it's subtle.

I think it'll work just fine. it works for ants and they have much better eyesight.
