I don’t think so but I froze the fly over night. Plus the main reason I don’t think it’s treated is because there are four ant colonies and tooo many bugs to count.

The whole world is thankfully not covered in pesticides. Nature parks are safe. Anywhere near a farm or golf course probably is not.

The ants have been eating the fly like crazy; they LOVE it. I mean, this is understandable because up till now they have only had fish food for protein.

Look in my mantis journal to see how to make an easy fly trap with an old plastic water bottle.

It'd be easier if you gave them an outworld. They'd move into the new test tube as soon as the old one dries out. No need to stress them out, just let them move out when the conditions actually become unsuitable.

Do you think that they have enough workers to do a tubs and tubes setup??? The worker count right now is 13-14 workers.

Yes. I would say immediately after they get workers is a good time to introduce them to a tubs & tubes.

What makes catching bugs at my park so easy is that there are these poles lining the park and the poles each have a light in them and the bugs are attracted to the lights. So me and my friends go out and catch bugs all evening with my test tubes.

I have my colony some lizard jelly I got from petco and they gobbled it up really quick.

I’ve also bought two byformica liquid feeders and a container for the outworld. The container is airtight because the ants can get past talcum powder barriers from past experience and I don’t want to buy fluon. The container is pretty nice and I’m going to drill a hole and stuff it with cotton so the ants can breathe. If anybody has any recommendations for a cheap barrier that Brachymyrmex patagonicus can’t get past then that will help a lot.

A piece of fish food i gave them started to mold so i took it out with some tweezers but now they don't have any water because i took the new test tube off the old one. Does lizard jelly have enough liquid in it to sustain the colony for a few days until my container ima use as an outworld arives? (the container comes on august 31 - september 2).

You can try to mush it up leaving more liquid.

Possibly, though it wouldn't be a bad idea to put a moistened cotton ball in as well if you don't have immediate access to a byFormica feeder. You should get some though.

I used an eye dropper to moisten the cotton ball that was holding back water.

I almost drowned all of the ants so I’m back to hooking up a new test tube, though this time using a different method; I hooked the old test tube up to the new one with a bit of airline tubing from my aquarium.

My byformica liquid feeders just came. Now just have to wait for my outworld container to come.
