I've noticed based on your posts, and now the pictures, that you are actually using what is considered the back of the formicarium as the front. The holes/plugs on the out world should be in back. This would give you a nice clear view into the out world, and the entrance half-tube would be cut to where you can see inside it.

I think you meant to say "my and my fiance's cats."  Unless you meant to say that you were eating the food, as well.

How can you tell they're deriving any nutrition from the completely dried foods?  Mine sometimes would bring dried foods back to the nest, only to later find it in the trash pile, uneaten.
