Have you ever tried breeding your own mealworms or something? they are pretty easy to breed.

Make sure everything is sitting correctly. There shouldn't be that big of a gap between those two pieces.

I got most of the ants back into their setup. So I probably really only lost around 20 to 30. Kind of a lot, but all the brood they have is way more than even the number of ants they have. Most of the them seem to have stayed in the two housing containers, which is lucky. I probably saw them in time before they all took advantage of the tiny gap.

Not sure why there'd be a gap if there isn't supposed to be one. I didn't do anything to it, except set it up. Always really careful with formicariums and ants. I did same thing I did with my Acromyrmex colony. But, like I said, the Pheidole megacephala workers are pretty small. The soldiers were even too big to get through the gap. So, only the really small ants could get through.

Okay, I thought at first you said the majors got out. If the minors are that small, then it's possible they could get out. Acromyrmex workers can be pretty small, but I guess the Pheidole minors are a bit smaller.
