My Camponotus discolor colony used to drink 5ml of "ant nectar" in about two weeks. Now it's down to 3 days. How fast do your colonies eat nectar?

I'm going to get them a mega feeder. They are fiends.

Starting this July I'm posting videos of my ants every week on youTube.

I like to make relaxing videos that capture the joy of watching ants.

Just keep It stocked. A sugar feeder should last you for a while and if not bump up size or amount of feeders . For instance my M. mexicanus colony, while still not large enough to be moved has to have 3 small byformica liquid feeders to keep them full and this lasts about a couple weeks and never exceeding 3 weeks.

Right on. You don't really need to worry about limits or doses on food unless its something they can drag into the nest. Otherwise then you get mold.

My Tetramorium immigrans downed an entire feeder five ml in around two hours so I give them two five ml feeders a week.

"If an ant carries an object a hundred times it's weight, you can carry burdens many times your size.
