I just watched a youtube video and it was about termites and ants. And in the video, a group of Odontomachus is supposedly attacking a termite mound. When Odontomachus is known to be solitary predtors and having small colony, defiently not enough to even attempt a raid at a termite nest. What's even more frustrating is that in the video, they identify the Odontomachus as Carebara diversa, calling them marauders. Then on the next scene, the ants that are attacking aren't even Odontomachus, its some species I can't identify, but they look more like tetramorium than Odontomachus. Then the video says the ants are stealing larvae and brood, while they show a clip of ants CLEARLY carrying ant larvae, callows and naked pupa. Termites don't even have larvae, as far as I know, and go from egg to nymph and grow from there.
I'm more confused and bewildered than angry, and I got nothing against whoever is making this video, but it just makes me sad that people are taking the wrong informations.
