So there's been a war happening on my front yard for about a year and a half now. The tetramoriums are absolutly crushing the Lasius. They've been pushed back again and again and now most of my front yard is dominated by tetramorium. With the lasius only holding the grassy parts.

I've been observing them for since the war started. The Lasius colony's been living in my front yard for a long time now, but the tetramorium colony is about two years old. Kind of sad to see the lasius colony fall like this. But the good news is that on my backyard there is a massive lasius colony(I'm suspecting the front and back yard colony are the same).

Anyway, I thought it would be interesting if I recorded the progress of the war. Here is some photos showing how much the tetramorium had taken over.

Blue = Territory the Lasius lost/the territory tetramorium now occupies

yellow = Territory the Lasius are still holding

From what I see in these pictures, I think I know why tetramorium are called pavement ants.

Next time, I'll post some picture of the ants!

Edit: Is this kind of posts suppose to go to the "Ant keeping journal" section?
