How did you find Camponotus floridanus somewhere where both Atta texana and Cephalotes texanus live? Do you have a permit for that?
Anyway, I’d love to see some pictures!

Ants are small creatures... but together... they can rule the world.

I mean technically Camponotus floridanus have an invasive population in Houston, Texas, although admittedly I have some doubts that they weren't imported.

I could have gotten it wrong. My first. Thought was Texanna but I looked more into it and I decided it more resembled florianus but I am 100% willing to reconsider as I am by no means expert. This thread was a mistake where the picture didn’t take tho how do I close it?

Floridanus, as it’s name suggests, mainly lives in Florida, although it has uncommon populations in Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi. Your carpenter ants are eithe C. discolor or C. decipiens.
