I found this species in the same park as the arboreal ants from my last topic (https://www.formicul...sp/#entry239336). These were biggish (about 10 mm I'd say, but that's just a guess) ants with a black body and red legs, antennae and mandibles. They were plentiful there, but foraged singly, on the ground or on low vegetation. They seemed to have fairly good eyesight for an ant, from the way they reacted to me. Some sort of ponerine, I suppose, but no idea which one.
