Is there a name for the way ants stick larvae together like this?

They make these little larvae flowers. Or maybe the larvae are holding on to each other.

It allows them to be ready to relocate the brood efficiently. They also keep the eggs in easy-to-carry clusters. 

 

I'm trying to look up papers about this but searching for "larvae clusters" and "larvae stuck together" isn't yielding anything. Is there a better name for this?

My Formica aservas do this too with the smaller larvae

I've always wondered this myself. I've read about larvae using hairs to stick together.
