My name is Valeriy and I'm from Ukraine, from sunny city Odessa.
I find your forum when I was looking for info about Liometopum and Myrmecocystus ants keeping and I like it! I have always been interesting achievements of foreign colleagues on this hobby.
Some word about me: I have been studying ants and keep it more than 15 years. During this time I had many species of ants from my country and other contries and continents - Israel, China, Thailand, Neotropica, South and Middle Europe, Madagascar. Also I have rich expiriens and maybe some stories and photos will be interesting for you!
My first goal - is to study this forum and the experience of foreign keepers.
Now I'm keeping:
1. Atta cephalotes - 60+ workers.
2. Camponotus sanctus - 150+ workers (Israel)
3. C. parius - big colony
4. C. nicobarensis - big colony, one queen
5. C. turkestanicus - 100-150 workers (Turkmenistan)
6. Cataglyphis livida - big colony (Israel)
7. Cataglyphis niger - 20-30 workers (Israel)
8. Temnothorax sp - 20 workers
9. Polyrachis dives - unknown numbers of workers.
10. Carebara (Pheidologeton) affina - middle size colony.
11. Solenopsis geminata - big colony.
12. Pheidole pieli - unknown numbers of workers.
Also have simple colonies like Lasius niger, Tetramorium caespitum, Serviformica rufibarbis and Messor structor.
