Title is self explanatory. I found a massive Lasius colony of either of those species, and I am wondering whether or not they would make good hosts.

L. nearcticus should be a very good host species for most parasitic Lasius species. L. brevicornis on the other hand may be suitable for some species but not all. I’m no expert but I believe that L. mercies is a better host species than that of L. brevicornis.

Keeping:

3x - S. molesta (colonies and single queen)                1x - C. nearcticus (founding but no eggs)   (y) New!

1x - C. chromaiodes (colony)                                       1x - C. subbarbatus (founding)

1x - F. subsericea (founding)                                        1x - T. sessile (mega colony)

3x - P. imparis (colonies)

2x - L. neoniger (founding)

Lasius brevicornis/nearcticus can be used pretty well as hosts for Lasius aphidicola, in my experience. I have seen folks use them for Lasius claviger and Lasius latipes x claviger, but have not done so myself.
