Do you think that making an aspirator will be cheaper than ten dollars?

Because I found an insect aspirator for ten dollars on amazon

I saw the same one hung before, but for $10? Come one, I’d rather make one. And yes, you could make one for less than $10. I have all the things I need, I just need to attach the tubing to suck air into so I can get the ants in when I find them.

I also just found this product online. You make a better one for less. The only thing the might cost money is the tubing.

And you can cut it to your liking. This way you can see the ants but they can't see you.

Yes this is very useful for viewing the colony (I don’t know why I haven’t got some yet). You do’t have to worry about checking on them so often, and just need a glance. Although, it is still better to wrap the red film around the test tube and still put her is a dark place. I mean; unless you a person who just HAS to check on you ants every couple of hours, then you can keep them outside somewhere where you can see them. The reason this works is because ants cannot process the color red, or it’s wavelengths in their eyes thus, causing it to be kind of “pitch black” in a way.
