It has been a while since I updated. Not too many things changed although the fact that I stopped putting them on heat to often has it created way too much humidity so often; but I did feed them a Dubai roach (killed) and the next day; I say a HUGE batch of them eggs. Our queen is pumping them out at the most random times. We also have some larvae from a previous batch when the larger larvae were pupating. They are still in pupating stage of course and have not eclosed yet (although I am excited for when they do).

Right. I forgot to say that a new minor has eclosed yesterday. I didn’t get a pic ans she’s probably hiding near the queen. She was pretty big (bigger than a worker but I didn’t compare towards those “VIP workers” which are probably also some kind of minors). She wasn’t big enough to be a major of course. The large cocoon which looks like a median cocoon is still there. I shined some light through the water tower, and saw it developing well. She will probably close by Friday or Saturday. We’ll have to wait and see. Brood development is absolutely astounding. They have at least 60 or so eggs in all the batches combined (possibly even more) and like 14 - 18 larvae. As a matter of fact; the eggs before the last generation (the one after their hibernation or the one that has the large cocoon) are already pupated. They are small so they are workers. Hopefully that large cocoon is a median. I can’t wait too see! I will post some pics soon.

Pretty sure that a Minor worker eclosed today. Looks bigger than the “VIP Workers” although I’m not too sure.

Well it’s been a long time since I last posted about this colony and I honestly don’t know what to say. They have been growing like crazy compared to when I first got them out of hibernation. The workers and brood they have now is the wild compared to when they first had brood and workers. All of this is because I fed them one Dubia Roach (killed but not pictured as I took it out a week ago after they finished or in other words, it was a shell when I picked it up to with my tweezers). Yep; just one. Now I know why others Camponotus colonies grow so fast. Just look at them!

Yet another journal I have not updated in months but these guys are thriving. They have about 40 - 50 workers with no majors (since on my vacation, they were not able to receive to much protein) but I will be able too feed them more now. despite this, they are very strong and healthy and have more larvae within the nest at this moment (divided into 2 or 3 batches). I plan on feeding them a mealworm later today along with moving and feeding my other colonies. I will post pics on this massive colony soon.
