Hello everyone. I am hoping this forum will help me take better care of my ants.
I have 2 Pogonomyrmex occidental queens, one in a T.H.A. haven, and one in a test tube.
I also have 3 solenopsis molesta in a test tube.
1 neoniger queen in a test tube.
1 Formica sp. In a 5/7 T.H.A. formicarium .
I have 2 more queens each an unknown species.
I will be asking questions and I hope all of you can help thank you.

First question I am not computer savy, how do you upload pictures to this forum?

Hey welcome to the forum.
Generally to post pictures on a forum, you need to have the picture uploaded to an image host of some sort, and then from there you would be able to get the direct image URL, in which you would enter into the dialog box that comes up when clicking the image icon while posting. If you want, you can upload pictures here on the gallery page and figure out what the direct URL to the picture is, but it would probably be easier just to use one of the popular image hosts.
Hope you figure it out, because I would love to see your P. occidentalis colonies. I have a few Pogonomyrmex colonies myself.

My personal suggestion would be to use this website.
1. Go to the website linked above.
2. Create an account by clicking on the "Sign up" button on the upper right. Or click here.
3. You will probably be asked to verify your account via email so check your email and follow the instructions given there.
4. Return to the website and log in to your account. (if not already logged in)
5. Click the orange upload button on the website located at the top of the page. Or click here.
6. Either drag and drop photos you want uploaded or click the "Choose photos & videos" button.
7. Once the upload is finished, click on the photo you have uploaded.
8. Look for a section on the right side that says "Links to share this photo" and copy the text inside the box beside "IMG". (Clicking the box should copy the text)
9. Paste the text on the forum text box.
10. You are finished.
P.S. I reviewed the forum rules, but in case hotlinking is secretly not allowed, feel free to remove this post.

I use photobucket.com to upload photos, but there are other sites that do it as well.
That is a nice diversity of ants - it will be interesting to see how they do.

Have you ever thought about making your own formicarium?

I tried for years to make my own with no success. Eventually I just gave up and quit anting all together for years, from the early 90s till 2 years ago when I found some videos online antscanada and then I found THA that's what got me back into anting

I have used grout and firebrick to make mine.
Firebrick is easy, you just carve and silicone some glass on.
Glad to hear that you got back into anting.

Since july 2013 I didn't want to brood boost. But a cat caused catastrophic flood left almost no naticics.
Luckily they where building a new subdivision by my house with 3 soon to be destroyed adult Pogonomyrmex colonies

This is one of many Pogonomyrmex occidental colonies that was flooded last September in our big flood I don't think this one survived

Nice. I like the slideshow.
It is always interesting how some colonies may have 10 chambers, but are bound and determined to cram themselves into 1 or 2 of them.
