Lf a place to ant in santa clarita, mainly looking for spots either in newhall or canyon country.
Currently keeping
-T. immigrans
-B. patagonicus
-N. cockerelli
I will want to also keep some other lasius types in the future.

It depends on what you want to catch. If you don't have any specific species in mind, you can go pretty much anywhere at catch at least one species of Formicidae.

not really looking for any species in particular, just trying to find a good spot since everytime I go march-june I can rarely seem to find any queens, like 1-2 max.

Going to different spots won't change not finding queens - you have to change when you go, not where. Which is something a lot of us figure out on our own. Inaturalist can be helpful with it, but it mainly takes field time to get the hang of.
