These are the first queens I've ever caught. Got them from a backyard 2 days ago. Pretty sure they are the same species. Sorry about the quality, my crappy phone camera is all I have.

I just read the topic with the template for ant IDs and realised I didn't follow it at all, so I will say what I can here.
Location: Paracuru (town), Ceará (state), Brazil.
Date of collection: 01/01/2024
Habitat of collection: a backyard in a fairly urban area.
Length: I didn't measure them when I got them and would rather not mess with them for a while now. but I would guess about 15 mm.
Coloration, hue, pattern and texture: the head is dark brown or black. The thorax is dark above and brownish yellow below. The gaster is dark with yellow markings above, and yellow below. Shiny exoskeleton.
I often see workers which I'm pretty sure belong to the same species as these queens foraging both indoors and outdoors, but I don't think I've ever seen their nest. They are more active during the night.
I looked up Camponotus substitutus and from what I (as a newbie just looking at pictures) can tell it looks very much like it!
