Hi all!
I actually joined this forum in 2019, but I don’t think I ever introduced myself. I caught a couple queens, one was unsuccessful, the other actually got a few workers but then I got married and life got crazy and I honestly can’t remember what happened with them.
I have experience keeping a small variety of invertebrates, mostly tarantulas. Ants seem way more interesting than tarantulas.
Right around thanksgiving, my two year old found a queen ant in the kitchen and I remembered how badly I wanted to keep ants. I have that queen in diapause, but I will be receiving a young Pogonomyrmex occidentalis colony this week because I’m so ready to start getting back into my hobbies again.

Greetings also from Texas. Sometimes I forget about my ants too, lol. I recently found my xyloni? queen and panicked. Anyway, I hope you are successful in all your future endeavors!
