New sanguinea group queen from spring green, props to Anthony for seeing and catching her.
She has a bunch of montana pupae but there is a few subsericea pupae hidden under all of them.
Wow.
There’s workers eclosed now, I’ve also gave her much more brood and now there’s 3 species of formica brood/workers in there. The 3 species are montana, subsericea, and prociliata but so far only montana workers have eclosed. Anthony and I agreed that the queen is likely rubicunda as she doesn’t have a heart shaped petiole but isn’t big enough to be aserva. I also moved them into a formisquarium from Arthropod Antics.
The sanguinea group queen is doing very good and has even started laying, there’s tons of host workers as well.
founding formica dolosa queens
Tons of biological eggs, larvae, pupae, and workers now! They had a nice egg to worker of 27 days which is pretty average for formica but still good.
Difficilis colony i collected a few months back is doing fine.
