This may be the devil in my shoulder but here I go. I'm looking at the laws about interstate insects travel and permits when I saw this "A PPQ 526 permit is required for the importation, interstate movement and environmental release of most insects and mites that feed upon or infest plants or plant products, including agricultural crops, trees, shrubs, native plants, etc" they said insects that feed on or infest plants of plant products. Does this include all ants leaf cutter ants are a obvious yes but what about others a Texas bullet ant doesn't feed on it infest plants. What do you think about this?

I believe all ants are classified as agricultural pests, regardless of the specific biology of a species. The biggest concerns are leafcutters and fire ants, but many other species still do stuff like tending aphids, which can damage plants.

Yeah I don't think a government employee would like it if I tried to find a loophole. If I want to get a non-native speices I will get a permit.
