Does anyone think these, Fluker's Gourmet-Style Dubia Roaches (1.2 oz.) - CLOSE TO EXPIRATION (joshsfrogs.com)
are a viable option for ant protein? I've seen cans of these lying around the pet store and they seem awfully convenient.

Considering that the only ingredient is dubia roach and it's sealed, I don't see why they wouldn't work. However, it would probably have a strong smell and have a not so long shelf life after opening, unless you freeze it.
My ants were not that into it.
I tried that product but the Pogonomyrmex Occidentalis I keep were not really into it.
They take in crickets and fresh dubia (all quickly boiled for a few seconds to kill off any mites or whatever) gladly when offered but didn't go for the canned ones.
And the ones in the can i got were partcularly large and thick carapice, i had to cut it up for them but still little to no intrest was shown.
