Found two TINY ants but they look kinda like bullet ants or acorn ants. Feel like they are too small for queens but maybe. Found in my garden, just in the surface of a pot filled with dirt only. Two found by themselves and I didn’t know if maybe they were queens trying to found? Any ID Help appreciated!

 

From AntID it looks like "Common Crypt Ant" (Hypoponera Opacior) perhaps??

Ok that is cool! I wonder where they came from then as my garden is just on my balcony on 3rd floor so curious the source. Appreciate ya all the same.

Yah definitely hypoponera, I have the yellow version in my yard.

Yeah, they don't usually reveal themselves easily in my experience, they are usually well hidden.

I have never seen the species before and these two were right at the surface of the soil in empty pot. Maybe a hidden nest somewhere in my plants.
