Hello all :)

So I searched the internet for info on whether or not to feed the Lasius Niger Gynes I caught on their nuptial flight day yesterday.
And what I found was mixed information, some say don't feed these fully claustral queens other articles posts and replies on different sources say only feed a toothpick-tip of sugar-water or honey after 24h.

So... what are your thoughts on this matter ?

Greetings,

A drop of sugar water soaked into something will give them a little boost.

A drop of sugar water soaked into something will give them a little boost.

I'll give them each a little piece of cotton-wool with some of the 'Honeydew surrogate' I posted about in this post on it.

After that they get 4-5 weeks of complete rest.

Thanks !
PL.
