How many workers would my colony of Camponotus modoc need before moving into a THA mini labyrinth? They are currently at about 35.

A good size of the nest is when they fill half or more of the nest. That seems to work for me but it might be different for Camponotus because they grow slowly.

I have seen THA sell the mini hearth as part of a 20+ colony pack with Pogonomyrmex. And moved my 20+ colony of Pogonomyrmex occidentalis from them into a mini hearth on arrival. They have been doing great, around 70-90 now i'd estimate(6 months later).

Ok, thanks!
