I've had this colony as long as the others, but I thought I'd start a journal about them.

That's remarkable growth in two months.  What protein are you feeding these gals, and how often?

Healthy looking brood pile. Looks like they are thriving.

L. neoniger, P. occidentalis, C. modoc, C. novaeboracensis, C. vicinus, T. immigrans, A. occidentalis, S. molesta, P. imparis, M. kennedyi, M semirufus, F. pacifica, P. californica, M. ergatogyna.

 

Previously kept species

T. rugatulus, B. depilis.

A whole bunch of workers eclosed today. Look at what I'm calling the "callow club"

I don't know how the queen does it. She is laying every single day. I often catch her in the act.

The callows still seem to get hazed and walked on.

Sad to report the queen in this colony died this winter during diapause. 

The colony has wound down since then and is no more. :( 

I'll miss them.
