I would like to identify my new ant. Can somebody help me?

I am new to the hobby and if anybody could help me I would really appreciate it.

Looks like lasius niger. Great starter.

They are easy to keep no special care needed. I have never kept this speices before but I've kept a related speices lasius neoniger. They are fun to watch.

The workers are fairly small so make sure that you have an escape proof formicarium.


I keep: C. modoc, C. sansabeanus  :D, C. maritimus, Formica argentea, M. mexicanus  :D, Odontomachus brunneus :D, Pogonomyrmex californicus, Pogonomyrmex rugosus,
