Hi all,

My 1st question here on the Formiculture Forums...

Perhaps an interesting question...

Would one-way-mirror-foil work too instead of the red foil ?
Of course placed so that the ants are visible from the outside but they see darkness from the inside....

Greetz,
Peter Lunk

I am not quite sure.

I thought one way mirrors only worked if the other side was dark?

So if you shone a light, they ants would still see it (as they can with red foil; most ants might not see red light, but they can still see light intensity, so my Messors freak out if I shine a red light at them suddenly in the middle of the night).
