Awesome find (Mutillidae, "Fake Ants")

Yesterday I made an amazing find.

I found a small wasp of the family Mutillidae.

The German name of these animals is "Trugameise" which literally translates to "Fake Ant".

Of course, this is mimicry and they in parts hunt the enemies of ants (tiger beetles) and it always helps to look like prey if you want to attract prey yourself!

This looks like a dryinid or something along those lines. Very cool.
