Has anyone seen this amazing book yet?

I have been fascinated by army ants since I was a little kid and watched a German nature documentary where the camera man was attacked by army ants.

My mum then told me some gruesome horror stories about how terrible these tiny hunters are.

It has just arrived from Amazon, and I am thrilled.

It is utterly gorgeous, with stunning pictures.

It will be go straight onto my "To Read Very Soon" list.

I will also write a review here when I have finished reading.

But my first impression is "awesome".

Am I the only one when seeing pictures like this thinking "this is exactly what I have done, I would also have had one of them climb on my finger and see it bite"?

IDK if I need to experience the Dorymyrmex's bite... but I'd totally risk it with Dynomyrmex. They are like giant versions of the carpenter ants I grew up with and make me feel like a little kid again just excited to see a BIG ANT.

I think with the army girls I'd be more worried about my socks being tucked in...

I have this book to and it's my favorite kind of science book. Lots of images but it also has some really top-notch information... it's not going to be talking down to you as you read it.

Starting this July I'm posting videos of my ants every week on youTube.

I like to make relaxing videos that capture the joy of watching ants.

If that sounds like your kind of thing... follow me >here<
