[Virginian_ants]

There has been a large amount of Camponotus Pennsylvanicus or Modoc appearing in my garage recently they have been just walking around doing apparently nothing. I think they might be living in my house. They have found their way into my basement as well but i think they just hitched a ride from straw in my garage to my ducklings in the basement. Does anyone know how to exterminate them safely? I know this website is to help keep ants but I love my house. We don't want to call an exterminator but we will if i have to.

C. modoc are not found in Virginia.
Camponotus will not eat your house. Just put out some Terro ant gel if you want to get rid of them. Blocking external entry points would probably do the trick in a safer way, too.

they don't unless your house has some serious water damage in an area
