I thought I post this here, since it is not really a valid ID request (I know nothing about where this ant came from originally).

Years ago, I got an ant bracelet from my US relatives who know I have been loving ants since I was a child.

So this bracelet was bought in the US.

Until now, when I just came across it again (I knew I still had it around somewhere), I thought this was one of the native US harvester ants.

Since I am at the moment reading EVERY ant book I can get my fingers on, I am now pretty sure this is a major of a Marauder ant, Carebara diversa or similar.

So this bracelet was actually made in Asia and then imported to the US.

Anyone has come across one of these?

What are your thoughts?

Yup that’s definitely diversa. No american pheidole except rhea gets that big, and their supermajors look completely different.

Yeah, it is a seed.

This is why I actually thought it was a native US harvester ant.....
