Hi everyone,

Just found this forum and registered and I am looking forward reading and learning a lot about my new hobby :)

I just started with ant keeping, actually last week. So I am absolutely fresh, not having a lot of knowledge yet and watching every video I can find on YouTube. So far I have a small colony of lasius niger with around 12 to 14 workers. And yesterday another small Camponotus Cruentatus colony arrived with 7 workers. I am absolutely excited about them as they are huge compared to the lasius niger. I also made a video from them, I hope I am allowed to share the link here, otherwise please let me know and I will remove again.

I am from Germany, 43 years old, having a lovely family and finally ants as well :)

I hope I can connect and talk to a lot of you and learn from you. Have a great day!

Cheers

Hi there!

Greetings from a fellow German.

I hope your colonies grow well and this new hobby gives you a lot of joy.

It certainly does for me.

Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.

Try blowing gently on any ants that approach the opening of the test tube when you remove the cotten. Mine usually freeze or retreat back into the tube.
Good luck with all your ants!
