2. Date of collection: 04/05/23
3. Habitat of collection: under bark in a forest
4. Length (from head to gaster):estimating 6mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: I'm color blind. Looks shiny though.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: na
7. Distinguishing behavior:tried to get away from me
8. Nest description: na

9. Nuptial flight time and date:idk

Not knowledgeable about Michigan ants, but looks like lasius neoniger or something similar to me.

Yeah that's a lasius species, likely either neoniger or americanus (probably the latter judging by the color)

Thanks! The consensus seems to be that it is neoniger or americanum on reddit as well.
