Hello there - my Camponotus Aneiopolosus little colony with 4 ants including the queen are not eating anything I give them. Is there anything you suggest that I could give them?

I gave them a little spider for the larvae and some honey on a little piece of cardboard. Unfortunately they have no interest in the honey, but as for the spider, they brought it a little bit further into the tube.

Do you have any suggestions? ( Sugar or protein)

I use small pieces of fine sponge from the cosmetics department saturated with sugar water. I make a long narrow tray from clear plastic to put it on and then slide it into the test tube. I feed my Camponotus a lot of meat -chicken, turkey, raw pork, salmon, but the thing I find that has universal acceptance is cooked chicken liver. I shave each very thinly so they're almost crumbly. I put a small piece of meat on the tray as well. The most important reason why your ants need protein is to feed larvae. Queens need a small amount of protein for egg production. Otherwise it's basically larvae that need protein. If your colony only has eggs or very small larvae they need very little protein but that will increase as they grow and then stop when they pupate.
