Hello , can you help me with some datas, i finded some type of purple myrica ant , its like myrica sp. red but its purple and more bigger.

Well I've never heard of a Myrmica that is purple before. How much bigger is it? Even just a few mm bigger could make this ant a whole different species. Do you have any pictures?

I agree with dermy.. the only Myrmica that I ever heard or encountered are usually in the red spectrum and some are black. It's nearly impossible to ID Myrmica without a microscope and simply saying an ant is purple that looks like Myrmica isn't going to make it easier to ID, the most important part of an ID is the pictures.

i don't have pictures , are large like a lasius niger queen and color are purple. (and it is look same like myrica sp .red , other nest was nearly 2 meters).

I stayed to look at it and my reaction was this: What is that? I don't see good or what. 3 min after i taked one of that species and i saw a normaly myrica species ant then i saw is same.

Update

I saw an exactly same worker but red at 1 m from nest.

Can be that some type of bacteria?

No ,,,, was an ant nest with that ants who look exactly like myrica sp red but purple and bigger .

huh ok i think that is not a know species i will take some pictures and some workers next time when i go there ...

hmm Only Myrmica that I can think of that are that big and purple may be Myrmica is M.karavajevi It's a workerless social parasite that infiltrates other Myrmica spp.

But please do snap some photos.. And try to get them as good as you can plus bring a ruler and measure them.
