Why hasn't this species been described as a normal species name yet? It's been a while so they were found, seems odd to me.

Interested buying in ants? Feel free to check out my shop

Feel free to read my journals, like this one.

Wishlist:

Atta sp (wish they were in CA), Crematogaster cerasi, Most Pheidole species

Species can and have gone decades without being described. It only happens when someone wants to fork the bill of collecting of specimens, analyzing lots of specimens, writing a paper, and then the very expensive publishing. To my knowledge it was assumed that a journal from Mexico was being published that would describe it, but years went by without anything - however this was word-of-mouth. Currently Dr. Ward is working on it along with many other Camponotus.
