Ah yes, the tiny 5 mm Asian trap jaw ants that can open their mandibles to 270 degrees but only eat springtails. How have I missed you.
This time I got two colonies as I want to try something out in the future. Lets get on with the journal first.
Myrmoteras binghamii (Two Colonies)
Same with my Acanthomyrmex colony, they are given the glass plaster nest treatment.
I want to name the two colonies Atrium and Ventricle (from the latest biology class at school) but I have yet to decide which to name which.
I guess that will come on a later day.
Like the previous colony that I kept they eat springtails and drink honey and sugar water. These two colony seem to be more interested in movement than smell.
I found that out when I tried to feed a worker a crushed springtail and it just ran away.
Same as Acanthomyrmex, these guys will only be updated when something neat happens to them or when my test on them starts.
This is the end for now, hope you have enjoyed and see you next time.
