Hello everybody. I spent a year reading up on ant keeping and lurking around forums such as this one. This forum looks like the perfect place to ask any questions should (more like when) I have some. I have a small "pavement ant" queen and what I think is a Camponotus pennsylvanicus queen in test tube configurations with offspring in their pupae stage. It's funny, I found the camponotus queen with eggs already laid inside a garden pot while I was planting the flower that was in it. It seems I didn't damage the eggs too badly in-transit to the test tub. One question, I see a bunch of eggs alongside the pupae. Could these be eggs that will fail to hatch because of the transfer or did she lay a second batch of eggs? I assume the second since I think she would have eaten any left in the first batch by now.

Anyways, it's great to be heer now! I suspect I am going to buy some nest boxes off of Crystal right soon...
