So, I collected a handful of queens in Yuba city CA throughout October 2022. This species has their nuptial flights in fall. They range all throughout California, southern Oregon and the northwestern part of Nevada. They are apart of the complex Pogonomyrmex occidentalis group. I've enjoyed keeping this species so far. They have 20 workers at the moment and a decent brood pile. They have been eating Kentucky blue grass seeds and mealworms. They are simply being heated by a heating cable.

If you have any questions on the species or the colony, feel free to ask. Thanks.
