Advice on homemade nest set up needed

Hi, i have a homemade nest and outworld that my friend made me. I have attached the nest onto the outworld but it is far too big, so i also have the test tube attached to the outworld aswell.

My question is, will the ants remain in the testube connected to the outworld or am i risking them going into the nest too early?

I can block off access to the nest needs be but just thought id see what happened as i am still only a beginner to the hobby and still learning
