So recall that I put two S. molesta queens inthe same tube. I checked on them the other day. One queen looked like she had a big pile of eggs and was moving them around. The other, however, looked like she was just hanging out on the cotton. Lame. More on this later.

Keeping three queens together is a "survival of the fittest" thing. For my S. Molesta, the workers decide who to kill, usually the weaker queens. The strongest queen doesn't get involved. I have seen workers attack queens almost as soon as they darken.
 


Species I keep:

 

1 Lasius cf. Neoniger 30 workers

1 Camponotus sp. 15 workers

20 Tetramorium SpE 30 workers

1 T. Sessile 200 workers
