Hi, I have been trying to find out the species of a queen I caught a years ago. I Don't really have any information about it. It looks like a Camponotus species and has a blood red gaster and the top of its legs are orangish. I do not have any information on its size but for comparison it was in an AC test tube. I think I caught it in august or september in my yard.

Yeah that’s definitely camponotus castaneus. This species has quite a bit of color variation which explains why your queen is so dark.
